A Call to Duty
We are educators, gardeners and green contractors, artists, advocates and agents of environmental justice and change.
Guides in reconnecting you with the natural environment.
When we care for the places we live, it communicates our shared values, increases mutual and self-respect,
rebuilds human capital and stronger communities!
I love getting my hands dirty, playing with plants!
As an environmental educator, I teach about our interdependent relationship with nature.
Since I was a child, I loved figuring out how things worked and often took objects apart just to put them back together again, much to the dismay of my caretakers. I was the handy-one in the family, tasked with building the “assembly required” furniture and toys. Career tests given early on in school suggested I would be a teacher, builder and/or farmer; they were right on all counts as I enjoy the creative processes of communicating ideas, putting projects together and helping things grow.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve worked with wonderful eco-based organizations including, The New York Botanical Garden, Sustainable South Bronx, the Greystone Foundation, Hudson River Clearwater, CityParks Foundation, the Bronx River Alliance, and the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, to name a few.
-I’m a registered NYC MWBE,
-Dept. of Education Business Vendor,
-and a nerd for stormwater management and green infrastructure!
